Biography
Shiva Pandit was born on 21 June 1984 in Nagpur, Maharashtra, India. He received his primary education from Doon Public School, Dehradun, and a bachelor’s degree from Hindu College, Delhi. Shiva spent most of his childhood in Nagpur, Dehradun, Karnataka, and Delhi due to his father’s government job. Since his college days, Shiva had a keen interest in acting. Due to which he participated in various stage shows and started working as a theater artist.
Shiva served in advertisements for popular brands such as LG, Colgate, Airtel, Tide, Sprite, etc. In the year 2008, they hosted the first edition of the Indian Premier League at the Extra Innings T20 show. Shiva is also a football player. He co-owns the Chandigarh Club cricket team in the Box Cricket League (BCL) with actress Anita Hasanandani. In addition, Shiva hosted shows such as “Studio Disney” and “Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa” (Season 3). His work for playing various roles was highly appreciated.
Family
Shiva was born into a Hindu family. His father was a government employee. There is no information about the name of his parents. He has a brother, Arjun Pandit (sports anchor on Star Sports), and a sister Gayatri Pandit (assistant director in the film Desi Boys and Boss). She married her girlfriend Amira Punwani (famous costume designer and stylist) on 9 May 2018 in Mumbai.
Career
In the year 2004, Shiva started his acting career in the film world with an English film, Let’s Enjoy. Later, he acted in a Hindi film “Aag Se Se Wright” in the year 2009. The process of working in films continued in this way, after which he got a big break in the year 2011, he became very popular with the role of Dushyant Sahu in the film Shaitan (an Indian crime thriller). For this, he was nominated for a Filmfare Award and was awarded the Big Star Young Entertainer Debut of the Year and Screen Award for the film Satan.
In the year 2012, Shiva was offered to debut as the lead actor in a Tamil film “Leelai”, in which his work was highly appreciated. He played a supporting character as the lead actor in the film Boss, starring Akshay Kumar. He was also seen in films such as Desi Boys, Roy, and Shivaay, with his sister Gayatri Pandit as assistant director. Shiva played the lead actor in the Bollywood thriller film 7 Hours to Go starring Sandeepa Dhar and Varun Badola in 2016.
In the year 2015, Shiva played the role of Ek Gay opposite the late Dhruv Ganesh in the film Love directed by Sudhanshu Sariya. Which was released on Netflix. The film was awarded the T Audience Award at the Framline Film Festival in 2016 and the Best Feature Audience Award at the Tel Aviv Film Festival. Shiva has also worked in several web series, untag, and selection days. In 2011, he finished third in the Times of India’s most promising newcomer.
