Biography
Gazal Dhaliwal was born in Patiala, Punjab, India. Everyone used to call him affectionately as Gonu. At the age of five, she had expressed himself as a woman, as she often loved playing with dolls and wearing her mother’s clothes. However, she did not tell his parents about this. At the age of fourteen, she told her father about the problem, but she could not understand anything at the time. After that, Ghazal ran away from home in depression. After this, her parents supported him. In 2007, she underwent sex reassignment surgery (SRS), after which her gender completely changed. She was known as Gunraj Singh Dhaliwal until she was twenty-five years old before sex-change.

She was born in a Sikh family to father Bhajan Pratap Singh Dhaliwal and mother Sukarni Dhaliwal.
Career
Gazal Dhaliwal received her primary education from the old Dal Public School, Patiala. She received her bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from Malaviya National Institute of Technology, Jaipur. In the year 2004, she started working as a software engineer at Infosys Technologies Limited in Mysore, Karnataka. However, Ghazal left the job in the middle of 2005 to bolster her career in Bollywood. She then took a one-year course in film production from the Xavier Institute of Communications (XIC), Mumbai. After that, she got an opportunity to work with film director Govind Nihalani on an animation film screenplay.
In the year 2014, Gazal Dhaliwal appeared in the “Satyamev Jayate” TV serial where she accepted alternative sexual relationships, which was hosted by Aamir Khan. In the year 2015, she made her acting debut with the short film “Next Time”. Apart from being an actress, she is also a writer. Due to which he started his writing career in the year 2016 with the film Wazir. She has also written dialogues for this film. She has also written dialogues for several other films such as Lipstick Under My Burkha (2016) and Karib Karib Single (2017).
In the year 2018, Gazal Dhaliwal wrote the story of the short film “A Monsoon Date”. She wrote the story, dialogue and screenplay of the movie “Ek Girl Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga” (2019) starring Anil Kapoor, Juhi Chawla, Sonam Kapoor, and Rajkumar Rao.
